The Australian Human Rights Centre (AHRCentre) Annual Lecture will be held on the evening of Sunday, 12th February 2012.

The lecture will be presented by Eve Ensler, Tony Award winning American playwright, performer, feminist and activist, best known for her play The Vagina Monologues and as a writer and activist focusing on violence against women in situations of conflict. The lecture will explore theatre as a mechanism for giving visibility to human rights violations and as a vehicle for human rights promotion and redress.

The projects developed by Eve Ensler on gender violence and mechanisms for redress, particularly her City of Joy and V-Day innovations coupled with her theatre and writing projects, stand as powerful tools for transforming community perceptions about human rights.
