The National Award Winning Lantern Mental Health 2.0 Unconference returns!
The Second Lantern Mental Health 2.0 Unconference will be held in Albert Park on Friday March 2nd 2012 from 9.45am to 4.00pm.
This event will provide the opportunity for people to explore and discuss social media, the internet, technology and mental health. What are the advantages of this 'always connected' world? What are the dangers? What are the big issues? How can we use it to improve our mental health and mental health service delivery?
The Australian Government recently established a new e-mental health expert committee. This reflects the increasing importance of social media and on-line care and support for people living with or caring for some-one with mental illness.
"Continuing advances in technology are revolutionising the way we provide health care, in particular for patients with chronic illnesses and conditions, such as mental illness," Minister for Mental Health and Ageing Mark Butler said.
Never been to an 'unconference '? Unconferences are self-organising.
The participants create the program (Grid) themselves on the day. We encourage you to share your knowledge and participate. As you can see from this image below, there were plenty of volunteer speakers this year!
We expect the 2012 Unconference to be even bigger and better, so please get in quick to register as places will fill fast. Tickets are released in three stages. The faster you register the cheaper the tickets.
We look forward to seeing you!
