Work with the Post Growth Institute, Project Australia, and the social innovator behind these organisations on projects ranging from a Free Money Day, a local community directory and the launch of books about nanotechnology and global sustainability/equity.

Time Commitment: 15 - 25 hours per week, flexible. The role may be undertaken from anywhere in Australia but is ideally Sydney-based. Office space is available at the Vibewire Enterprise Hub in Sydney or in Brooklyn, 1hr North of Sydney.

Remuneration: This position is undertaken voluntarily.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft public relations materials including news releases, fact sheets and promo flyers
  • Develop and execute marketing and promotional campaigns. This could include helping to write copy, working at events, and gathering feedback from people
  • Build relationships with media and other not for profit organisations
  • Attend and participate in public/partner meetings and distribute promotional materials
  • Help develop existing media lists and databases, whilst monitoring media activity
  • Assist with admin. such as: scanning/sorting files, data upload and managing mail-outs
  • Assist with engaging and informative promotions on social networking sites

Requirements

  • Own laptop and/or computer
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • An understanding of basic media relations skills
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing and sending news releases
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to use Facebook, Twitter and Youtube to market effectively
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, learn quickly, work independently and be self-driven to complete projects and daily tasks

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in public relations, communications or a similar field
  • Prior, relevant experience in public relations, communications or a similar field
  • Ability to use design software
  • Experience using a CRM, especially CiviCRM
  • An interest in matters of sustainability

Opportunity Overview: 
Gain professional experience and exposure in public relations across various ground-breaking organisations, campaigns and projects, simultaneously!

Work with the Post Growth Institute, Project Australia, and the social innovator behind these organisations on projects ranging from a Free Money Day, a local community directory and the launch of books about nanotechnology and global sustainability/equity.

Time Commitment: 15 - 25 hours per week, flexible. The role may be undertaken from anywhere in Australia but is ideally Sydney-based. Office space is available at the Vibewire Enterprise Hub in Sydney or in Brooklyn, 1hr North of Sydney.

Remuneration: This position is undertaken voluntarily.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft public relations materials including news releases, fact sheets and promo flyers
  • Develop and execute marketing and promotional campaigns. This could include helping to write copy, working at events, and gathering feedback from people
  • Build relationships with media and other not for profit organisations
  • Attend and participate in public/partner meetings and distribute promotional materials
  • Help develop existing media lists and databases, whilst monitoring media activity
  • Assist with admin. such as: scanning/sorting files, data upload and managing mail-outs
  • Assist with engaging and informative promotions on social networking sites

Requirements

  • Own laptop and/or computer
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • An understanding of basic media relations skills
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing and sending news releases
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to use Facebook, Twitter and Youtube to market effectively
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, learn quickly, work independently and be self-driven to complete projects and daily tasks

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in public relations, communications or a similar field
  • Prior, relevant experience in public relations, communications or a similar field
  • Ability to use design software
  • Experience using a CRM, especially CiviCRM
  • An interest in matters of sustainability
