2012 Campus Ambassadors

The Young UN Women Australia Sydney Committee is a dynamic network of young women and men that aims to encourage the involvement of young women and men in women's development and security, build-up young women's leadership capabilities and contribute and support the work and priority areas of UN Women Australia.

We host a variety of exciting events throughout the year including careers seminars, leadership forums, and film screenings to raise awareness and funds for UN Women campaigns. We need your help with holding events on campuses, and spreading the word about our work so that we can involve and engage more people!

Being a Campus Ambassador is perfect if you are interested in gaining some experience in events and marketing, gender and development, and working with a non-governmental organisation. It is an opportunity to join our Young UN Women community in Sydney, alongside dynamic and inspiring young women and men, and work together to make a difference.

What does being a Campus Ambassador involve?

Campus Ambassadors are responsible for facilitating our campus-based events and campaigns. In 2012, this will include an International Women's Day event and a film screening during Spring Campaign. They are also encouraged to host their own events or fundraisers with the support of the Young UN Women Sydney Committee.

Additionally, Campus Ambassadors are responsible for promoting membership of Young UN Women and our upcoming events on their campus through posters, email lists, student publications, lecture bashing, clubs and societies, and departments and areas of study.

Campus Ambassadors need to liaise with the Young UN Women Committee about what networks they are utilising throughout the year as well as their own plans for events.

What are we looking for in a Campus Ambassador?

Young UN Women Campus Ambassadors are chosen because they embody the values of Young UN Women and can convey our message to a wide audience.

Specifically, we are looking for young women or men who are:

  1. Interested in the work of Young UN Women and who will regularly attend our events;
  2. Engaged and well-connected on their particular campus;
  3. Hard-working, trustworthy and reliable; and
  4. Effective communicators

To Apply

  1. Interested in the work of Young UN Women and who will regularly attend our events;
  2. Engaged and well-connected on their particular campus;
  3. Hard-working, trustworthy and reliable; and
  4. Effective communicators
