Do you have a strong connection with, and commitment to, disengaged young people in the following regions; South Canberra/Weston Creek, Belconnen or North Canberra/Gungahlin?

The Education and Training Directorate is seeking Expressions of Interest for membership of the Re-Engaging Youth Network Boards in these three regions .The Boards will bring a greater level of local understanding, cooperation and coordination across all providers and agencies working to support young people disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education and training, in line with the ACT Youth Commitment.

Members for these Boards are being sought. Successful nominees are selected by the Directorate and Board Chair and appointed for a period of two years.

The Role of the Boards Includes:

• Aligning programs and services across the network region and the ACT associated with supporting the positive transition of disengaged youth through education and training and/or employment.
• Developing an action plan for there-engagement of young people in the network region and monitoring achievements of the action plan.
• Promoting a positive community profile for young people in the region.
• Developing a network for communication.
• Scoping the size of the challenge regarding disengaged youth or youth at risk of disengaging.

Nominations are sought from community members who have a connection and commitment to the Southern Canberra/Weston Creek, Belconnen and Northern Canberra/ Gungahlin regions and who represent key stakeholder interest and/or hold relevant expertise and experience associated with the re-engagement of disengaged young people.
