UN Women (formerly UNIFEM) is the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.

Young UN Women Australia work domestically to:
(i) Ensure the Australian Government prioritises gender in its aid and development program as well as in domestic policy;
(ii) Challenge attitudes which perpetuate inequality in Australia; and
(iii) Raise funds for UN Women projects which empower women.

As a vital part of this mandate, Young UN Women Australia Sydney is now recruiting members aged between 18-35 years for their 2012 Outreach Working Group!

Successful applicants for this team will play an active role in organising a series of UN Women Leadership Forums for secondary and tertiary school students across Sydney aimed at developing the leadership capacities of young women. These Forums are to be held in regional and urban locations and tailored to junior students (years 7-9), senior students (years 10-11) and university students respectively.

Working group activities will include a variety of tasks such as the:

  • Development of grant proposals to secure Forum sponsorship;
  • Selection of high profile Guest Speakers for the main Forum events;
  • Planning of leadership and team-building activities for Forums;
  • Identification of key Forum sponsors and networks;
  • And much more...

  • Nomination forms must be completed and submitted electronically to Executive Outreach Officer Alexandra Moore at alexandra.jane.moore@gmail.com NO LATER THAN 5PM TUESDAY, 27TH DECEMBER, 2011.
  • Each applicant must attach a current resume with their Nomination to satisfy the application requirements.
  • Applications will be collectively reviewed by members of the YUNWAS Sydney Chapter Executive in December 2011.
  • The outcome of each application will be released no later than Tuesday, 10th January, 2012.
  • Successful applicants will receive a direct communication from YUNWAS Executive Outreach Officer, Alexandra Moore, with further details and the 2012 Outreach Working Group Meeting calendar.
  • It is expected that any successful applicant who is unable to commit to this meeting schedule will inform Executive Outreach Officer, Alexandra Moore, by email before Friday, 13th January, 2012.

As a vital part of this mandate, Young UN Women Australia Sydney is now recruiting members aged between 18-35 years for their 2012 Outreach Working Group!

UN Women (formerly UNIFEM) is the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.

Young UN Women Australia work domestically to:
(i) Ensure the Australian Government prioritises gender in its aid and development program as well as in domestic policy;
(ii) Challenge attitudes which perpetuate inequality in Australia; and
(iii) Raise funds for UN Women projects which empower women.

As a vital part of this mandate, Young UN Women Australia Sydney is now recruiting members aged between 18-35 years for their 2012 Outreach Working Group!

As a vital part of this mandate, Young UN Women Australia Sydney is now recruiting members aged between 18-35 years for their 2012 Outreach Working Group!

Successful applicants for this team will play an active role in organising a series of UN Women Leadership Forums for secondary and tertiary school students across Sydney aimed at developing the leadership capacities of young women. These Forums are to be held in regional and urban locations and tailored to junior students (years 7-9), senior students (years 10-11) and university students respectively.

Working group activities will include a variety of tasks such as the:

  • Development of grant proposals to secure Forum sponsorship;
  • Selection of high profile Guest Speakers for the main Forum events;
  • Planning of leadership and team-building activities for Forums;
  • Identification of key Forum sponsors and networks;
  • And much more...

  • Nomination forms must be completed and submitted electronically to Executive Outreach Officer Alexandra Moore at alexandra.jane.moore@gmail.com NO LATER THAN 5PM TUESDAY, 27TH DECEMBER, 2011.
  • Each applicant must attach a current resume with their Nomination to satisfy the application requirements.
  • Applications will be collectively reviewed by members of the YUNWAS Sydney Chapter Executive in December 2011.
  • The outcome of each application will be released no later than Tuesday, 10th January, 2012.
  • Successful applicants will receive a direct communication from YUNWAS Executive Outreach Officer, Alexandra Moore, with further details and the 2012 Outreach Working Group Meeting calendar.
  • It is expected that any successful applicant who is unable to commit to this meeting schedule will inform Executive Outreach Officer, Alexandra Moore, by email before Friday, 13th January, 2012.

UN Women (formerly UNIFEM) is the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.

Young UN Women Australia work domestically to:
(i) Ensure the Australian Government prioritises gender in its aid and development program as well as in domestic policy;
(ii) Challenge attitudes which perpetuate inequality in Australia; and
(iii) Raise funds for UN Women projects which empower women.
