Young Noise
Offers youth a supportive organisation where they can explore, discuss and partner on issues related to human rights and social change, as well as develop their awareness, community building, and critical thinking through active participation with their peers and with prominent decision making authorities.
The Road Trip
We're uniting a generation to create a sustainable country free from youth homelessness. In 2012 you could be one of the many young people who will embark on a nationwide road trip to help end youth homelessness and raise awareness. We will be leaving from every major city in the country in order to spread the message and raise awareness of homelessness. Through flash mobs, meetings with MPs and businesses, speeches at schools, music events and more, we will generate the groundswell of support necessary to achieve real change.
Each road trip will converge on Central Sydney for a 7 day summit that will unite us in a call for action. We will urge individuals, communities and governments to do more to create the world we all want to live in. But we can't do it alone. We need your help. If you are aged from 14-26, are confident, engaging and a natural leader who is passionate about ending world poverty, we want you on our bus! Join the movement to end youth homelessness
Your bus will travel through Australia's cities and towns, inspiring thousands of people to join the fight against homelessness. The experience will be at times crazy and fun, at others difficult and challenging. But one thing is for sure - it will never be dull!
The Dates
There will be two rounds of trips at different dates:
Young Noise is trying to bring a festive Christmas to the homeless this year by feasting on food with people and receiving presents. We want you to be the one that celebrates Christmas with them! Leave your family to be part of one big family. Only in this round we will be preparing, serving and eating a special Christmas dinner for the homeless and invited guests and MPs.
Though if you are a festive person and can't get away from your family during the Christmas period feel free to join us on the first trip.
Cost
No more than $250 per person - subsidies and scholarships available. The cost is dependant on how many people will be attending and the costs incurred. Expenses of the entire trip will be hugely subsidised.
Of course, in order to make the trip as cheap as possible you will have to work with Young Noise throughout the year to fundraise money towards the trip. Any left over fundraising money will be donated towards a selected homeless shelter.
