The Position

This is an exciting new role that will lead AYCC's latest venture, the Young Professionals Network. The Young Professionals Network is an innovative new network that will bring together emerging leaders from across the corporate sector around the issues of climate change and sustainability. Through a series of events, held once every two months, The Young Professionals Network will provide young leaders with the skills and connections necessary to drive innovation and sustainability within the workforce.

You will play a key role in the Steering Committee, designing events, and implementing the network. This is your opportunity to build a program that has the potential for national expansion. You will be part of a dynamic team of young people within an organisation renowned for its impact.

 Australian Youth Climate Coalition

The Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) is Australia's largest youth‐led organisation. We are an independent non‐profit with over 65,000 members nationwide, and a strong presence online, offline and in the media. AYCC educates, inspires and engages young people to actively build a sustainable future.

Position Details:

• Position type: 3 days/ week, ongoing, $40,000 pro rata incl. super
• Position duration: 14 month contract with review after three months
• Location: AYCC office in Carlton, Melbourne

Essential Characteristics

• Strong event management and project management experience, including recruitment, promotions and logistics
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience
• Innovative, motivated and driven
• Strong time management skills: works efficiently and effectively
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of and commitment to AYCC's mission and values

Desirable Characteristics

• Experience developing and maintaining successful partnerships between organisations across various sectors
• Strong negotiation skills and experience
