The Purpose of the Study

The purpose of this study is to examine how people think and feel about volunteering. This study is being conducted by Anna Cooke, Rachel McDonald, and Stacey Parker as part of the requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Queensland under the supervision of Dr Winnifred Louis. 

What is Involved?

Participants are asked to fill out several questionnaires about volunteering behaviour, attitudes towards volunteering, and general health and well-being.  Participation in this online survey will take approximately 20 minutes.  Both current volunteers, past volunteers, and non-volunteers are able to participate.

Confidentiality and Security of Data

All data collected in this study will be stored confidentially. You will not be identified in any way.  The data you provide will only be used for the specific research purposes of this study.  You will be asked to provide your email address for future participation, but this will be stored separately from your responses, and not linked to the information that you provide in any way.

Ethics Clearance

This study has been cleared in accordance with the ethical review processes of the University of Queensland and within the guidelines of the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research.  You are free to discuss your participation with project staff if you have any more questions.

The University of Queensland School of Psychology seeks participants in an online study of volunteering in Australia. The researchers undertaking this work say:"The current research investigates attitudes and motivations towards volunteering in Australia. We believe that this information would be useful to organisations that depend on recruiting volunteers as well as organisations that lobby for better support and standards for volunteer workers."

All data collected in this study will be stored confidentially. You will not be identified in any way.  The data you provide will only be used for the specific research purposes of this study.  You will be asked to provide your email address for future participation, but this will be stored separately from your responses, and not linked to the information that you provide in any way.

This study has been cleared in accordance with the ethical review processes of the University of Queensland and within the guidelines of the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research.  You are free to discuss your participation with project staff if you have any more questions.

The Purpose of the Study

The purpose of this study is to examine how people think and feel about volunteering. This study is being conducted by Anna Cooke, Rachel McDonald, and Stacey Parker as part of the requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Queensland under the supervision of Dr Winnifred Louis.
