Getting involved

There are currently 10 vacant positions on the YRG, including one position for the Young Media Spokesperson. There are opportunities this year to take on specific roles within the YRG or you can nominate yourself as a 'general member'. In order to nominate yourself for a position on the YRG you must be:

  • A current YACVic Member (If you are not a current member you can join for just $2 by visiting www.yacvic.org.au or give us a call on 9267 3799)
  • Aged between 12 and 25 (inclusive)
  • Able to commit to attending a 4 hour meeting on the last Saturday of each month for the duration of 2012 and to doing approximately the equivalent amount of work between meetings

We strongly encourage young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and from rural and regional Victoria to nominate!

Opportunity Overview: 
The Youth Reference Group (YRG) is a practical demonstration of YACVic's commitment to young people’s participation and active decision making. It provides a forum for young people to develop proposals, campaigns and projects that relate to YACVic's overall work. The YRG provides advice to YACVic and to other community organisations and government departments about a range of issues affecting the lives of young people in Victoria.

Opportunity Overview: 
The Youth Reference Group (YRG) is a practical demonstration of YACVic's commitment to young people’s participation and active decision making. It provides a forum for young people to develop proposals, campaigns and projects that relate to YACVic's overall work. The YRG provides advice to YACVic and to other community organisations and government departments about a range of issues affecting the lives of young people in Victoria.

Getting involved

There are currently 10 vacant positions on the YRG, including one position for the Young Media Spokesperson. There are opportunities this year to take on specific roles within the YRG or you can nominate yourself as a 'general member'. In order to nominate yourself for a position on the YRG you must be:

  • A current YACVic Member (If you are not a current member you can join for just $2 by visiting www.yacvic.org.au or give us a call on 9267 3799)
  • Aged between 12 and 25 (inclusive)
  • Able to commit to attending a 4 hour meeting on the last Saturday of each month for the duration of 2012 and to doing approximately the equivalent amount of work between meetings

We strongly encourage young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and from rural and regional Victoria to nominate!
