The National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) and Social Innovation Sydneyhave partnered for the inaugural Indigenous Innovation Unconference to be held on Saturday 29 October 2011.
This event will give the community an opportunity to focus on capacity building, sustainable development, and strengthening cultural identity through enterprise. Attendees will include a diverse audience of Indigenous enterprises, social entrepreneurs and innovators, academia, government, corporate and media for this open, collaborative an constructive community conversation.
Jason Glanville, CEO of the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, notes:
"I see first-hand on a daily basis the impact and importance of building trust between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous communities. For lasting change to be achieved trust must be built. The Indigenous Innovation Unconference offers a place for Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians to come together to connect, interact, learn from each other, and engage in community collaboration and participation."
