The Young UN Women Australia Sydney Committee is a dynamic network of young women and men that aims to encourage the involvement of young women and men in women's development and security, build-up young women's leadership capabilities and contribute and support the work and priority areas of UN Women Australia. The Executive is the management team within the Committee who are charged with overseeing the functions of the committee and implementing organisational decisions in line with policies of UN Women Australia.

With the announcement of UN Women, a historic step has been taken by UN Member States in accelerating the organisation's goals on gender equality and the empowerment of women. This is an exciting time to become integral to the progression and direction of Young UNIFEM Australia - Sydney Committee.

Applications are now open for the roles of Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary on the 2012 Young UN Women Australia Sydney Committee Executive. Once elected, the new executive team will work together to determine the structure of the extended executive team for 2012. This is a valuable opportunity for young women to build their leadership skills while promoting gender equality and the advancement of women worldwide. Nominees should note that executive members serve a term of one year and that these roles require a weekly time commitment in order to be properly served.


Elected Committee Positions

The following positions will be elected in November 2011 to serve a one year term until November 2012:

  • Chair
  • Vice-Chair
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

These elected positions must be filled by women aged 18-35.

The Young UN Women Australia Sydney Committee is a dynamic network of young women and men that aims to encourage the involvement of young women and men in women's development and security, build-up young women's leadership capabilities and contribute and support the work and priority areas of UN Women Australia. The Executive is the management team within the Committee who are charged with overseeing the functions of the committee and implementing organisational decisions in line with policies of UN Women Australia.

With the announcement of UN Women, a historic step has been taken by UN Member States in accelerating the organisation's goals on gender equality and the empowerment of women. This is an exciting time to become integral to the progression and direction of Young UNIFEM Australia - Sydney Committee.

Applications are now open for the roles of Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary on the 2012 Young UN Women Australia Sydney Committee Executive. Once elected, the new executive team will work together to determine the structure of the extended executive team for 2012. This is a valuable opportunity for young women to build their leadership skills while promoting gender equality and the advancement of women worldwide. Nominees should note that executive members serve a term of one year and that these roles require a weekly time commitment in order to be properly served.

The Young UN Women Australia Sydney Committee is a dynamic network of young women and men that aims to encourage the involvement of young women and men in women's development and security, build-up young women's leadership capabilities and contribute and support the work and priority areas of UN Women Australia. The Executive is the management team within the Committee who are charged with overseeing the functions of the committee and implementing organisational decisions in line with policies of UN Women Australia.

With the announcement of UN Women, a historic step has been taken by UN Member States in accelerating the organisation's goals on gender equality and the empowerment of women. This is an exciting time to become integral to the progression and direction of Young UNIFEM Australia - Sydney Committee.

Applications are now open for the roles of Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary on the 2012 Young UN Women Australia Sydney Committee Executive. Once elected, the new executive team will work together to determine the structure of the extended executive team for 2012.
