Tia International Aid Finance Officer

Tia International Aid is a youth-led non profit organisation based in Adelaide, Australia, that aims to improve the futures of disadvantaged children in Cochabamba, Bolivia by working directly with local organisations and community groups to create sustainable and lasting change. Working from a model of empowerment and participation, we focus on collaborating with the community, working alongside centres and organisations that assist disadvantaged children and youth.
Founded by Tessa Henwood-Mitchell, a Social Work and International Studies student at the University of South Australia, TIA is run entirely by a group of passionate volunteers, most of whom are likeminded university students or recent graduates.

The Tia International Aid Finance Officer is a voluntary role, responsible for managing TIA's finances and maintaining our financial records. This role is vital to ensure that TIA is fully transparent and accountable to our supporters.

Duties

  • Manage and update financial records for Australian finances and Bolivian finances;
  • Monitor and advise on the use of finances;
  • Accurately maintain the books;
  • Report on the state of finances at each meeting;
  • Attend fortnightly/monthly meetings;
  • Provide an annual financial report at the end of each financial year;
  • Other duties as required.

Desired Skills and Characteristics

  • Ability to work under time constraints
  • Very well organised
  • Knowledge and experience in financial management
  • Degree/qualification in accounting or similar (at least in progress)
  • Ability to take initiative
  • A commitment to upholding the vision of TIA and a passion for making a difference!

Time Commitment
This position is an ongoing role, and will require a minimum of 5-10 hours a week, with attendance at fortnightly/monthly meetings, TIA events and our
Annual General Meeting.

Tia International Aid Finance Officer

Tia International Aid is a youth-led non profit organisation based in Adelaide, Australia, that aims to improve the futures of disadvantaged children in Cochabamba, Bolivia by working directly with local organisations and community groups to create sustainable and lasting change. Working from a model of empowerment and participation, we focus on collaborating with the community, working alongside centres and organisations that assist disadvantaged children and youth.
Founded by Tessa Henwood-Mitchell, a Social Work and International Studies student at the University of South Australia, TIA is run entirely by a group of passionate volunteers, most of whom are likeminded university students or recent graduates.

The Tia International Aid Finance Officer is a voluntary role, responsible for managing TIA's finances and maintaining our financial records. This role is vital to ensure that TIA is fully transparent and accountable to our supporters.

Duties

  • Manage and update financial records for Australian finances and Bolivian finances;
  • Monitor and advise on the use of finances;
  • Accurately maintain the books;
  • Report on the state of finances at each meeting;
  • Attend fortnightly/monthly meetings;
  • Provide an annual financial report at the end of each financial year;
  • Other duties as required.

Desired Skills and Characteristics

  • Ability to work under time constraints
  • Very well organised
  • Knowledge and experience in financial management
  • Degree/qualification in accounting or similar (at least in progress)
  • Ability to take initiative
  • A commitment to upholding the vision of TIA and a passion for making a difference!

Time Commitment
This position is an ongoing role, and will require a minimum of 5-10 hours a week, with attendance at fortnightly/monthly meetings, TIA events and our
Annual General Meeting.
