Youth Leadership Australia is a platform for the engagement and activation of young people in volunteering and leadership development across Australia. Its goal is to make it easier to get involved in volunteering and leadership development by providing an online directory of current opportunities, campaigns, programs, and organisations.

youthleadership.org.au currently draws hundreds of visitors per day and reaches out to thousands of university students and young people through its weekly updates. In the short time YLA has been active, it has been able to effectively carry out an organised but conservative social media strategy. YLA seeks to better engage with social media in a more innovate, results-focused manner.

We are seeking students to act as a Social Media Intern for the period of 8 weeks. This may suit student currently undertaking Marketing, or an individual that is passionate about social media. Should a candidate show promise in the role, after the intern period they will be asked to take on more responsibility and have more direction of the Social Media function at YLA.

It will be the responsibility of this role to:

  • Track social media for news and information relating to volunteer positions and youth leadership in Australia (Key activity)
  • Identify strategies to better utilise social media, and increase YLA's social footprint
  • Identify solutions to automate the posting of social media posts
  • Liase with HR(or relevant) staff to ensure the prompt posting of new information to the YLA website
  • Liase with external advisors on possible strategies that YLA could implement.

The applications must have:

  • Previous experience with Social Media (personal or otherwise)
  • 7-8 hours a week required to complete the role
  • Professional and organised
  • High level of initiative and independence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computer and online technology

YLA seeks to better engage with social media in a more innovate, results-focused manner.

We are seeking students to act as a Social Media Intern for the period of 8 weeks. This may suit student currently undertaking Marketing, or an individual that is passionate about social media. Should a candidate show promise in the role, after the intern period they will be asked to take on more responsibility and have more direction of the Social Media function at YLA.

YLA seeks to better engage with social media in a more innovate, results-focused manner.

We are seeking students to act as a Social Media Intern for the period of 8 weeks. This may suit student currently undertaking Marketing, or an individual that is passionate about social media. Should a candidate show promise in the role, after the intern period they will be asked to take on more responsibility and have more direction of the Social Media function at YLA.

It will be the responsibility of this role to:

  • Track social media for news and information relating to volunteer positions and youth leadership in Australia (Key activity)
  • Identify strategies to better utilise social media, and increase YLA's social footprint
  • Identify solutions to automate the posting of social media posts
  • Liase with HR(or relevant) staff to ensure the prompt posting of new information to the YLA website
  • Liase with external advisors on possible strategies that YLA could implement.

The applications must have:

  • Previous experience with Social Media (personal or otherwise)
  • 7-8 hours a week required to complete the role
  • Professional and organised
  • High level of initiative and independence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computer and online technology

This position would a person who has time throughout the week to complete elements of the position.
