Grass-Roots campaigning Internship
The Oaktree Foundation is an aid and development organisation run by people under the age of 26. As part of the "Make Poverty History" movement, we aim to alleviate world poverty by directly improving access to educational opportunities to those living in developing countries.
We are currently recruiting for the role of Grass-roots Campaigning Intern for the national Live Below the Line campaign. Live Below the Line (http://www.livebelowtheline.com.au/) is the annual fundraising campaign that challenges participants to eat off the extreme poverty line of AUS $2 for five days in May, raising awareness and funds for anti-poverty initiatives.
The primary objective of this role is to work in a team for the creation, production, management and implementation of advocacy, participant education resources, participant acquisition and engagement, and grass root promotions and events.
The successful applicant will also be working closely with the national co-directors and the national team in an exciting opportunity to work in the fastest growing peer-to-peer fundraiser in Australia.
The ideal candidate will have experience in community volunteering or social work, be highly organised with excellent communication skills, and will be able to develop and execute new ideas to a professional standard.
This is a unique opportunity to be involved in an international fundraising campaign, and you will gain experience in Australia's largest youth-run aid and development organisation, along with receiving exceptional professional development opportunities.
The position requires 10-12 hours per week including at least 1 day at the Camberwell Office. It also requires a minimum of a 1 year commitment. For more information please visit our website www.theoaktree.org
