We're currently looking to build a team of 4-5 passionate and enthusiastic young people to support our Education for Sustainability advocacy work.

At the core of the AYCC's mission is a commitment to creating the long-term cultural change we need to ensure a sustainable society for our generation and generations to come.

As such, we're now expanding an exciting area of our advocacy work - ensuring sustainability is embedded in our education system. Current activities include:

  • Working to ensure sustainability is embedded in the National Curriculum and state-based curricula
  • Advocating on behalf of sustainability education programs such as the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI)
  • Establishing the Education for Sustainability Alliance, an advocacy focused alliance of key stakeholders including Unions, NGOs, and research organisations.

As part of the Education for Sustainability Team, you'll have the opportunity to:

Promoting the long-term cultural change we need to create a fair and sustainable world is at the core of the AYCC's mission. We're currently looking to build a team of 4-5 passionate and enthusiastic young people to support our Education for Sustainability advocacy work.

We're currently looking to build a team of 4-5 passionate and enthusiastic young people to support our Education for Sustainability advocacy work.

At the core of the AYCC's mission is a commitment to creating the long-term cultural change we need to ensure a sustainable society for our generation and generations to come.

As such, we're now expanding an exciting area of our advocacy work - ensuring sustainability is embedded in our education system. Current activities include:

  • Working to ensure sustainability is embedded in the National Curriculum and state-based curricula
  • Advocating on behalf of sustainability education programs such as the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI)
  • Establishing the Education for Sustainability Alliance, an advocacy focused alliance of key stakeholders including Unions, NGOs, and research organisations.

As part of the Education for Sustainability Team, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about politics and political strategy
  • Develop research skills
  • Learn how to run political campaigns
  • Have a real impact on the way sustainability is understood and taught within our education system

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Policy research and development
  • Communicating with external stakeholders
  • Campaign strategy development
  • Campaign implementation
  • Political and industry lobbying
  • 4-6 hours per week

Key skills include:

  • Knowledge of, or interest in, researching the education for sustainability sector

Opportunity Overview: 
Promoting the long-term cultural change we need to create a fair and sustainable world is at the core of the AYCC's mission. We're currently looking to build a team of 4-5 passionate and enthusiastic young people to support our Education for Sustainability advocacy work.

We're currently looking to build a team of 4-5 passionate and enthusiastic young people to support our Education for Sustainability advocacy work.

At the core of the AYCC's mission is a commitment to creating the long-term cultural change we need to ensure a sustainable society for our generation and generations to come.

As such, we're now expanding an exciting area of our advocacy work - ensuring sustainability is embedded in our education system. Current activities include:

  • Working to ensure sustainability is embedded in the National Curriculum and state-based curricula
  • Advocating on behalf of sustainability education programs such as the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI)
  • Establishing the Education for Sustainability Alliance, an advocacy focused alliance of key stakeholders including Unions, NGOs, and research organisations.

As part of the Education for Sustainability Team, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about politics and political strategy
  • Develop research skills
  • Learn how to run political campaigns
  • Have a real impact on the way sustainability is understood and taught within our education system

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Policy research and development
  • Communicating with external stakeholders
  • Campaign strategy development
  • Campaign implementation
  • Political and industry lobbying
  • 4-6 hours per week

Key skills include:

  • Knowledge of, or interest in, researching the education for sustainability sector
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in, or interest in learning, policy development and campaign strategy
  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of the AYCC
  • Passion and enthusiasm!
