Nominations for the Young Canberra Citizen of the Year 2011 are now open.
The Young Canberra Citizen of the Year Awards are a celebration of the achievements of young people throughout the ACT and provide recognition to those who have made a noteworthy contribution to the ACT community. The Awards encompass the Young Canberra Citizen of the Year, Personal Achievement, Youth Arts, Individual Community Service, Young Entrepreneur, Young Environmentalist and Group Award.
The Young Canberra Citizen of the Year Awards were introduced in 1989. The Awards are conducted in partnership with sponsors and the ACT Government. The Young Canberra Citizen of the Year Awards provide an opportunity to recognise young people who have made significant contributions in areas including community work, sport, education, science, culture, the arts or the environment. Further, the Awards seek to acknowledge and recognise significant personal achievements of individual young people. The Awards are open to young people aged between 12 and 25 who have made a significant personal achievement in their life or a contribution to the ACT community.
Nominators will need to complete the nomination form and provide a detailed profile of the nominee and details of the outstanding contribution or achievements. All information provided remains the property of the ACT Government and will be treated confidentially. Nominations close on 19 August 2011.
