LOCAL ACTIONS, GLOBAL IMPACT: the future is unmapped.

The future is unmapped. It is a concept that exists only in our minds and is subject to change based on our thoughts and ideas. To change the future, we must change the ways in which we think. We must begin to take new and innovative approaches the world’s problems; those which incorporate the values of today’s young people, in order to build a better, brighter future.

The Global Perspectives Summit (GPS) 2011 is three-day event run from September 20th – 23rd by students of The University of Melbourne. It aims to harness the energy and enthusiasm of 100 young individuals from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds to come up with creative ideas and solutions to the world’s major problems.

By bringing together, inspiring and engaging passionate young minds the 2011 GPS will foster the creation of a community of future world leaders committed to generating positive global change, beginning with locally-based actions. Through a series of social innovation, entrepreneurship and skill development workshops, as well as provocative guest speakers and public debates, delegates will be challenged to think outside the box and to take their newfound skills and experiences beyond the summit into their everyday lives.

Interested in taking part? Please fill out an application for one of our delegate positions and help us map the future.
