  • Ensure your promotions strategy is compatible with those of Promotions Officers in other Fundraising and Sponsorship teams.
  • Collaborate  ith the Media Officer to ensure promotional events (e.g. university promo stunts, media stunts) receive media coverage.
  • Evaluate the promotions process and document the successes and challenges for future reference.

  • Experience in promotions or transferable skills, interests and experience
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Attention to detail - including spelling and grammar!
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • A bit of tech savvy - be able to use facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Creativity and innovation - be able to come up with crazy new ways of promoting the campaign effectively
  • Initiative, dedication and reliability
  • Great organisation skills
  • A 'can do' attitude
  • Design skills are a plus but not necessary

Position Benefits

  • Invaluable experience working for a non‐for-profit organisation with all its associated challenges.
  • Practical life skills such as communication, time management, problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • The opportunity to gain experience in your area of study - particularly if you are studying promotions, event management, business or marketing.
  • The opportunity to get people excited and aware about an event that raises much-needed funds for educational projects in developing communities.

Time Commitment
Approximately 8-10 hours per week. The amount of time you spend on this role each week will depend on what sort of promotions you undertake and how you want them implemented E.g. if you travel to universities to speak directly to people about the event this will take much more time than using email/facebook/viral  YouTube videos. The role is what you make it!

All applicants are required to submit a current CV and a cover letter of no more than 2 pages, outlining the applicant's characteristics, skills, and motivation to join The Oaktree Foundation. Applications close 5pm Monday August 29th, 2011. All applications must be received in full by this time by Gab Barnes, at g.barnes@theoaktree.org.
