The Oaktree Foundation is an aid and development organisation run by young people under the age of 26. We believe that education is the most powerful force we have to change the world.

The role of Campaigns Core Team Member is to work with some of the best young leaders in Australia to coordinate political lobbying and campaigning activities in Western Australia. The Campaigns Core Team Member will help coordinate events that assist in the delivery of stories of those in  the community taking action against extreme poverty. These stories will be used to demonstrate o our elected representatives the depth and breadth of the movement in Australia and to apply pressure on our nation's decision-making body to accept their fair share of the responsibility to effect change and end extreme poverty. Specifically, the Core Team Member is required to:

  • Assist with the organization of a large MP lunch as part of Oaktree's three day conference
  • Organise the foreign affairs debate as part of Oaktree's three day conference
  • Implement Oaktree's national campaign strategy in WA including the launch of Oaktree's new national campaign
  • Assist in the coordination of political and campaigning initiatives and events; and
  • Any other adhoc duties as required, within the scope of the position.

Key Performance Indicators
The success of the Core Team Member will be measured by:

  • the coordination of events directed towards political engagement, building the brand of the Oaktree Foundation, and/or fundraising;
  • quality of development of state-based public-engagement models and event proposals;
  • impact on wider public, indicated by media, events, recognition, relationships;
  • feedback from the Campaigns Manager;
  • achievement of campaign targets.

Characteristics and Skills required

  • dedication and strong, hard work ethic;
  • excellent interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills;
  • willingness to take personal responsibility and use initiative to solve problems;
  • excellent personal organisation, time management, reliability and efficiency;

It would be beneficial for candidates to have:

  • knowledge of the Australian political process; and
  • experience in event coordination.

Time Commitment
The necessary time commitment for this position is 8 hours a week--‐ including emails, phone calls and team meetings. This is inclusive of 2 hours of meetings, including regular weekly meetings with the Campaigns Team, fortnightly Branch meetings and any other additional meetings.We  are looking for individuals who can make at least a six month or one year commitment to the position and It is expected that you will also play a key role  (within your time commitments) to participate within other Oaktree WA  programs and projects.

The Oaktree Foundation is an aid and development organisation run by young people under the age of 26. We believe that education is the most powerful force we have to change the world.

The role of Campaigns Core Team Member is to work with some of the best young leaders in Australia to coordinate political lobbying and campaigning activities in Western Australia. The Campaigns Core Team Member will help coordinate events that assist in the delivery of stories of those in  the community taking action against extreme poverty. These stories will be used to demonstrate o our elected representatives the depth and breadth of the movement in Australia and to apply pressure on our nation's decision-making body to accept their fair share of the responsibility to effect change and end extreme poverty. Specifically, the Core Team Member is required to:

  • Assist with the organization of a large MP lunch as part of Oaktree's three day conference
  • Organise the foreign affairs debate as part of Oaktree's three day conference
  • Implement Oaktree's national campaign strategy in WA including the launch of Oaktree's new national campaign
  • Assist in the coordination of political and campaigning initiatives and events; and
  • Any other adhoc duties as required, within the scope of the position.

Key Performance Indicators
The success of the Core Team Member will be measured by:

  • the coordination of events directed towards political engagement, building the brand of the Oaktree Foundation, and/or fundraising;
  • quality of development of state-based public-engagement models and event proposals;
  • impact on wider public, indicated by media, events, recognition, relationships;
  • feedback from the Campaigns Manager;
  • achievement of campaign targets.

Characteristics and Skills required

  • dedication and strong, hard work ethic;
  • excellent interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills;
  • willingness to take personal responsibility and use initiative to solve problems;

It would be beneficial for candidates to have:

This is inclusive of 2 hours of meetings, including regular weekly meetings with the Campaigns Team, fortnightly Branch meetings and any other additional meetings.We  are looking for individuals who can make at least a six month or one year commitment to the position and It is expected that you will also play a key role  (within your time commitments) to participate within other Oaktree WA  programs and projects.
