If you are passionate about climate change, AYCC is looking for people to join their campaigns team. AYCC’s national campaigns have mobilised tens of thousands of young Australians to put pressure on federal government in the right places and push for effective climate change policies. The ideal candidate is passionate, creative, hardworking and friendly people aged 16-29 to join the Campaigns Team. Positions are for 6 months and are on a voluntary basis.
The AYCC as employed creative ideas and innovative strategies to engage young people and effectively grab the attention of media and politicians. Some of our past campaigns have included Youth Decide, Power Vote, Nag Your Nan, The Climate Elephant, and Meet Your Member.
Expected time: ~8 hours per week. Applicants need to be quite flexible, as the Campaigns Team experiences varying intensities at different times.
Your role will include (but not be limited to):
- Designing and running training seminars, workshops and other events for between 20 to 100 people
- Supporting youth climate ambassadors arranging, preparing and holding meetings with Members of Parliament
- Creating innovative ideas to engage young people and the general public in AYCC campaigns
- Generating ideas for publicity stunts
- Engaging with media (including social and online media)
Current Campaign:
The Meet Your Member campaign aims to mobilise thousands of young Australians to meet with all 226 Federal Members of Parliament and Senators to show their support for a Price on Pollution. This has involved a Youth Climate Ambassador Training seminar, organising and holding meetings with politicians, running street teams, workshops and publicity campaigns, and more!

Mobilising young people in creative ways during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in October to call for international action on climate change.
Successful Applicants will:
