Mayibuye creates a space for young adults to come together, learn and exchange ideas. It also gives hope and empowerment to young people, who would otherwise be led into a life of destructive behavior. Mayibuye is looking for an Online Community Manager who will play a key role in creating and promoting the image of Mayibuye.

As the Online Forum Coordinator you will be responsible for;

  • Managing Mayibuye's Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and Myspace accounts
  • Ensuring all forums remain updated and used for promotional purposes
  • Communicating to the public on behalf of Mayibuye
  • Promoting events, vacancies and updates
  • Ensuring all branding and messaging is consistent throughout the organisation and to the public
  • Portraying Mayibuye in a professional manner to the public
  • Researching new online networking opportunities
  • Communicate with the IT programmer to promote external forums via the Mayibuye website

Required Skills:

  • Approachable, professional and organized
  • High level of initiative and independence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good team management skills
  • Experience in the marketing and advertising industry preferred
  • Proficient with computer and online technology

Opportunity Overview: 
Mayibuye creates a space for young adults to come together, learn and exchange ideas. It also gives hope and empowerment to young people, who would otherwise be led into a life of destructive behavior. Mayibuye is looking for an Online Community Manager who will play a key role in creating and promoting the image of Mayibuye.

Mayibuye creates a space for young adults to come together, learn and exchange ideas. It also gives hope and empowerment to young people, who would otherwise be led into a life of destructive behavior. Mayibuye is looking for an Online Community Manager who will play a key role in creating and promoting the image of Mayibuye.

As the Online Forum Coordinator you will be responsible for;

  • Managing Mayibuye's Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and Myspace accounts
  • Ensuring all forums remain updated and used for promotional purposes
  • Communicating to the public on behalf of Mayibuye
  • Promoting events, vacancies and updates
  • Ensuring all branding and messaging is consistent throughout the organisation and to the public
  • Portraying Mayibuye in a professional manner to the public
  • Researching new online networking opportunities
  • Communicate with the IT programmer to promote external forums via the Mayibuye website

Required Skills:

  • Approachable, professional and organized
  • High level of initiative and independence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good team management skills
  • Experience in the marketing and advertising industry preferred
  • Proficient with computer and online technology

This is a volunteer position and requires 7 hours a week. Training and mentoring will be provided as you grow into your role.
