World Youth International is looking for several dedicated volunteers to lead our Overseas Action Programs to Peru, Nepal, Kenya and Cambodia commencing in November 2011 and January 2012. The Team Leader will play a key role in managing a team of 7 - 12 volunteers and implementing several community development projects. This is an amazing opportunity to have a hands-on role in creating positive change globally and facilitating a life-changing experience for a team of volunteers.
The position requires a responsible, mature candidate who is resilient, flexible and professional in their dealings with others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, as well as demonstrated experience in leadership and project management. The candidate must be a team player, have strong motivational skills and be able to work with minimal supervision.
We are currently recruiting Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders for the following programs:
Team Leaders and Assistants will be required to arrive in country approximately seven days prior to the program start-date. They must also remain in country for several days after the program has completed.
For Team Leaders, all expenses are covered by World Youth, including flights, in-country costs and travel insurance. For Assistant Team Leaders, World Youth will also cover all in-country expenses, but the Assistant is required to pay for their flights, travel insurance and any other pre-departure costs. Team Leaders and Assistants will be required to undergo an intensive three-month training program, which consists of eight phone training sessions, homework tasks and a final two-day, face-to-face training session in Adelaide (expenses will be covered and dates are negotiable).
We will consider international applicants, however they must be able to participate in the two-day Team Leader training program in Adelaide prior to departure. World Youth will only cover domestic flight costs to attend this training, so any international applicants must be willing to fund their own trip to Adelaide for this training.
Please download the position description on the World Youth website. If there are any further questions, please forward them to alice.johnson@worldyouth.org.au.
To apply, please fill out and submit the Online Application Form by 5:00pm (ACST) Friday, July 1, 2011.
