2011 NSW Youth Volunteer of the Year

The NSW Volunteer of the Year Award is an annual awards program launched in 2007 by The Centre for Volunteering to recognise the outstanding efforts of the 2.4 million volunteers in NSW, and to promote the importance of volunteering to the community and to companies. Prior to 2007 there was no state-wide recognition program for volunteers. The Centre for Volunteering is working with other state peak bodies to take these Awards nationally in the future.

To be eligible for nomination for the 2011 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award:

• Nominees must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents with residency in NSW.
• Nominees must be 15 years of age or older
• Nominees must have volunteered for the equivalent of at least 100 hours over the last 12 months
• Nominees must have volunteered for a legitimate not-for-profit organisation.
• Communities in NSW must benefit significantly from the nominee's voluntary work

The award is broken into 18 regions across the state, so dont be shy nominating someone!
