A group of women politicians from all parliaments across Australia are holding the W.comm forum in Canberra on the 21st and 22nd of August to find out from you what can be done to get more women into politics. Although progress is being made, at present only six Commonwealth countries meet the international target of having women make up 30 per cent of their parliaments.

Participants will be able to spend time with female MPs so they can discuss and debate what issues matter to them in their own community. The forum program is constantly evolving, but is likely to include workshops on how to get involved in politics, presentations by senior female politicians about their career and the challenges they’ve faced and discussions on issues raised by participants.

The application process is open to women aged between 18 and 25.
