The Oaktree Foundation is the largest and fastest growing youth run organisation in Australia, and an incredible place for young people to make a huge difference in the fight against global poverty and injustice.
We're entirely run by over 350 volunteers under the age of 26, have an office and significant teams in every state, are 88,000 members strong, and are behind some of the biggest and most exciting poverty campaigns in Australia.
We've created and lead the Live Below the Line campaign that this year raised over $1.25 million for fighting poverty in our region, and had over 6000 people take part. We created and lead the MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY Roadtrip in 2010 - which included the largest poverty focussed lobby day in Australia's history, with over 1200 young Australian's converging on Canberra. In 2007 our ZEROSEVEN campaign achieved a $4.3 billion increase in Australia's foreign aid commitments, and in 2008 our End Child Slavery campaign was instrumental in convincing Cadbury to become fairtrade.
An incredible opportunity exists for a driven, talented, passionate and committed young leader to step up and become Oaktree's next General Manager.
This role is a significant and crucial leadership position within the organisation, and will oversee all Oaktree's political and fundraising campaigns, as well as our communications. A scholarship of $15,500 p/a will be awarded to the successful candidate.
